Astrodoodle is a joyful blend of imagination, humor, and personal history. Growing up in Titusville, Florida—on the Space Coast near Cape Canaveral—space exploration was part of everyday life. My grandparents worked at Kennedy Space Center, and as a kid, school would pause so we could go outside and watch space shuttle launches lift off into the sky. That sense of wonder, excitement, and limitless possibility left a lasting impression on me.
This painting captures that childhood awe through a playful lens, featuring a happy doodle suited up as an astronaut, ready for adventure. Radiating blues and energetic marks burst from the background, creating a sense of motion and cosmic energy.
Painted using my signature palette-knife technique, thick layers of heavy-body acrylic build rich texture throughout the fur, helmet, and expressive details.
